Job description

Overall Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the effective operation of our IT systems, providing technical support, and assisting in the maintenance and management of IT equipment. You will work directly with end users to resolve technical issues, contribute to the upkeep of IT systems, and help the organisation achieve its operational goals through efficient technology solutions.  This is not a remote working role.  You will be required to work on-site in Diss.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer initial IT Help Desk calls, diagnosing and resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Prioritise and resolve support tickets; escalate to 2nd line support when necessary.
  • Service, repair, and maintain all types of IT hardware and systems across the organisation.
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of newly acquired IT equipment.
  • Investigate, identify, and resolve faults within IT systems to minimise downtime.
  • Provide clear guidance and technical support to end users.
  • Liaise with external IT providers and business partners as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in the routine upload of data to business partners as requested by the IT Manager.
  • Offer general IT support to management and other operational areas as required.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical users.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
    • Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
    • Familiarity with common IT systems, networks, and software.
